No. Studentrooms is completely free to use for students. There are no (hidden) costs, so use our website to find a student room you like and contact the landlord to schedule an appointment.

No. Charging renters a brokerage fee is illegal and you shouldn’t comply to that. Please let us know if your contact person is charging you a brokerage fee.

If you believe your landlord is overcharging you, please check this website and fill in the information to calculate your maximum rent. This website tells you how much a landlord can legally charge you. If it turns out you’re overpaying you should contact your landlord and ask him to lower your rent accordingly. If your landlord doesn’t want to lower your rent, you can visit het Juridisch Loket to ask them what actions you can take. You can find a list of their offices here.

No, Studentrooms doesn’t own the properties that are being advertised on the website. Studentrooms is a platform where renters and landlords can get in touch with each other. However, we do find it important that you’re satisfied with your room, so if you have any complaints, please let us know.

Studentrooms lets you find rooms all over the world and doesn’t charge you money to get in touch with the landlords.
